Popular Florida Campgrounds

With its year-round warm climate and many attractions, Florida is a frequent travel destination for tourists in the U.S. If you enjoy camping, you can find campgrounds near many of Florida's popular attractions, including campgrounds near beaches and theme parks. A recent survey came up with a list of the top campgrounds in the state of Florida.
Ocean Pond Campground
Ocean Pond Campground is situated on the northern shores of Ocean Pond in the Osceola National Forest, near Olustee in the southern part of the state. You can choose a location in the private and primitive woodland sites under the shade of the longleaf pines, or set up your tent or RV right along the shoreline, where you can go fishing right from your own campsite.
Blue Spring State Park Campground
Blue Spring State Park is located in Orange City. Blue Spring is the largest spring on the St. Johns River, and swimmers and snorkelers enjoy its crystal-clear water. The campsites, in the sand pine scrub, are a short walk from the spring. They include six air-conditioned two-bedroom cabins as well as campsites for RV and primitive camping.
Santos Trailhead & Campground
If you enjoy going for a hike or riding bikes or horses, consider a stay at the Santos Campground, near Ocala. The campground is located near the Santos Trailhead on the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway. There are separate trails for hikers, off-road bikers and equestrians. The campsites at Santos have fire rings, picnic tables and water and electric hook-ups.
Sebastian Inlet State Park Campground
Sebastian Inlet State Park, located at Melbourne Beach, is an excellent vacation spot for the avid angler. A pair of jetties jut out into the Atlantic Ocean, where you can fish for redfish, bluefish, snook and Spanish mackerel. The park's three miles of beaches also has some of the best surfing on the East Coast, as well as provides an excellent location for snorkeling or scuba diving. You can go canoeing or diving on the Indian River Lagoon. The campground offers primitive camping as well as RV and tent camping; there is even a Wi-Fi hotspot over by the marina.
Many of Florida's campgrounds offer enjoyable outdoor activities for the whole family. Whether you are a Floridian looking for a fun weekend getaway or a tourist coming to Florida from out of state, you can find a campground that offers activities you can enjoy in an unbelievably beautiful location.
