The Carolina Hemlocks Campground
Camping at the Carolina Hemlocks campground is one of the most rewarding outdoor experiences you may ever have. Located in Burnsville, North Carolina in the Pisgah National Forest, the Carolina Hemlocks offer lakeside camping in a beautiful setting. The Carolina Hemlocks campground is located in the Pisgah National Forest adjacent to the Carolina Hemlocks recreation area. The campground is open from April 15 through October 31, although it is best to check with the park since this can change with weather conditions. There are 33 paved campsites, as well as a few extra sites for larger vehicles and RVs. There is one picnic pavillion that is available for $60 per day and is always reserved at least four days in advance. The entrance gate is open from 7am until 10pm daily. Within the facility are flush toilets, firewood, grills, picnic tables and a sheltered dining area.
There are a number of activities to enjoy near the Carolina Hemlocks campground. Nearby is Roan State Park, where dozens of hiking trails await you. The campground is also near the South Toe River, where fishing is a popular activity. Go swimming in the lake or rent a float tube and meander down the river.
