Camping at Brookville Lake

Camping at Brookville Lake offers a wonderful experience for the outdoor enthusiast. Located in Brookville, Indiana, the area was purchased by the government to provide a place for wildlife and recreation. Part of the lake lies in the historic east fork of the Whitewater River Valley, which is known worldwide to some for its large deposits of fossils that date back 450 million years. Visitors to the area can enjoy an abundance of outdoor activities in the beautiful lake setting.

Camping

There is plenty of room at Brookville Lake. The campground boasts 388 tent camping sites along with 62 sites with full hookups for recreational vehicles. There is a general camp store to accommodate visitor's needs and a dump site for RVs. The tent sites are all equipped with electricity and restrooms with showers located in the campground. Other ammenities include a playground and a fish cleaning station.

Activities

There is an awful lot to do at Brookville Lake. Aside from fishing, there are nine boat ramps for boating and water sports. The campground also provides horseshoes, hiking trails, volleyball, picnic tables and even a shooting range. The 11 hiking trails in the park have difficulty levels that range from easy to rugged.

Regardless of outdoor interests, Brookville Lake is sure to have something that every visitor can enjoy. Activities include hiking, fishing and water skiing, or visitors can just enjoy the beautiful scenery of the lake's setting.
